  1. Pre-registration is greatly appreciated.  Class confirmation will be made before the first class.  If you have to cancel enrollment, 1 week notification before class begins is requested.

Member Information:  wingspan Painting Studio would appreciate your help in making these classes accessible to all.  Your tax-deductible contribution will help to support the Tuition Assistance Fund.  If interested please include a $25 annual membership fee (or other amount).  This also entitles you to a 10% discount on all classes.  Please deduct this % if you join!  Many thanks in advance.

 

  1. History:  Maggie Standley, principle artist of wingspan Painting Studio, relocated to Vermont following an Artist’s Residency at the Vermont Studio Center.  She launched her specialty painting company in 1998, and offers a range of faux finishes, original oil paintings and murals.  Maggie began teaching while a Resident Artist at historic Glen Echo Park in Maryland in 1993.  In the area, she has taught at the Shelburne Art Center, Burlington City Arts, Burlington Women’s Coalition, Very Special Arts of Vermont, Spring House School of Art, Burlington After-School Program, Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Center and the Helen Day Art Center.  Her exhibits date to 1994 and she has been published in periodicals such as ‘The Washington Post’ and has received various grants.  Maggie earned a BA in International Studies at Trinity University, San Antonio, TX.  She attended L’Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, France as an undergraduate and the University of Yaounde, Cameroon as a Rotary Graduate Scholar.  She is primarily a self-taught artist.
